Educated in Japan, England, the United States and Australia, Kiyoshi is not only fluent in both Japanese and English, but seamlessly moves between Japanese and Western cultures. His family owned a ryokan (traditional Japanese inn) in Ishikawa Prefecture, and thus from an early age hospitality and tourism has been in his blood.

Kiyoshi has lived and worked across Australia and Japan for more than 32 years and has made Sydney home for he and his family. Kiyoshi commenced his tourism career as Sales Representative at Traveland South Pacific, Inbound Tour Operator, Tokyo, Japan in 1987. Moving to Sydney in 1989, he successfully established and operated a Japanese Inbound and Convention Division with a multi-million dollar turnover for Austraco, a Professional Conference Organiser and Inbound Tour Operator.

Kiyoshi also worked for Hotel InterContinental Sydney as their Sales and Marketing Manager – Japan for nearly 6 years. He has extensive knowledge of the Australian Japanese tourism and business travel market with an outstanding and vast network of travel industry and commercial contacts in both countries.

Prior to the establishment of K-Marketing, Kiyoshi was Director of Sales for Daikyo, Hotels, Resorts & Cruises, responsible for more than 50% of their international business. He maintains very strong personal relationships with the key players within the Japanese and Australian wholesale and inbound markets. He is well respected by his clients and industry contacts. Kiyoshi understands the Australian way of doing business as well as the Australian sense of humour!
